Alcohólicos Anónimos estima que aproximadamente 3 millones de personas en Venezuela enfrentan problemas con el consumo de alcohol, una situación que se vuelve cada vez más común entre los jóvenes en el país, según la información difundida por la organización.
Con el propósito de abordar esta problemática, la organización desarrolló un programa de recuperación para contrarrestar el avance del alcoholismo.
Esta enfermedad, como reportan, está presente desde el siglo XX y no discrimina según la edad, género, clase social o situación económica.
Según datos de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), el alcoholismo provoca 3.3 millones de muertes al año, 200 enfermedades y trastornos, discapacidades y pérdidas económicas.
En vísperas del Día Mundial Sin Alcohol, que se conmemora el 15 de noviembre, la asociación difunde su mensaje de recuperación a través de diversas plataformas en línea.
