Residents of a small town have been told to stay indoors due to a major police operation, as officers negotiate with a man holed up inside a home.
Police made an emergency declaration in the town of Donnybrook in Queensland‘s Moreton Bay region about 6.44am on Sunday morning.
Boundaries for the exclusion zone have been established on Ann Street, Maud Street, Fisherman Drive, Alice Street and Mary Street.
Police were called to an address within the zone around 5:25am, with specialist police negotiating with a man at the property.

Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and those within the exclusion zone are asked to remain indoors until further notice.
The emergency declaration was made under the Public Safety Preservation Act.
