Nearly a year after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Kyiv’s fighting forces have managed to rapidly digitize, something the U.S. has spent decades and billions of dollars to do.

WSJ Brussels bureau chief Dan Michaels joins host Julie Chang to discuss the shoestring tactics of Ukraine’s military and what the Pentagon can learn from them.

  1. You could also make a video about audio spotting of Shahed and other incoming Kamikadze drones. Ukraine has made a considerable progress in its development and implementation. Spotting and interception technics.

  2. The difference between Ukraine and the U.S. is that Ukraine is willing to experiment and fail. The U.S. is not. Why do something for a few hundred dollars when you can spend a few million dollars.

  3. They are asking what the US can learn from Ukrainian communication lol the US probably showed them how to do it. Look at their military now compared to 2014 the US is responsible for the immense growth of the Ukrainian military.

  4. Initially Israel used drones as a cheap surveillance platform – we just couldn't help ourselves and had to put rockets on it.
    Ukraine is going back to what drones are really good at.
    It's nor that we can't but there isn't enough money in it.

  5. -> > 🤔 Maybe We're The 1st Spiritist* Pop-Metal Or Rock Band In This World…

    But Don't Pay Much Attention To Our Neanderthal English, HaHa ❤ HaHa

    *NOTE:

    -> Spiritist is who professes Spiritism, the Gospel continuation

    It has began with the books by Allan Kardec and continued in the books by Francisco C. Xavier, the greatest and more important medium/prophet of spirits of the last centuries…

  6. The problem in the West, especially the US, is that we haven't fought an existential war since WWII. Try being experimental and innovative not just in a peacetime military but in a peacetime military that hasn't been in an existential fight over the span of several generations. You only need to look at organizations such as the NSA (encryption) and NGA (targeting) for impossible hurdles for new technology or innovative uses of existing technology. But there's more. Everything we do now has to go through an information assurance review with signature levels way up in the stratosphere virtually guaranteeing the process will take a lot longer than it should and be way more complicated than it needs to be.
