Ecuador es el quinto país en Latinoamérica con mayor número de reportes de actividades inusuales en las que están involucrados niñas, niños y adolescentes en Latinoamérica. Por ello la Policía Nacional asegura que realiza permanentes patrullajes en territorio digital.
La explotación sexual que es el gran paraguas que abarca otros delitos como la pornografía infantil ha incrementado en el país y en el mundo después de la pandemia.
“Hay un crecimiento brutal del 400% luego de la pandemia porque de alguna manera los niñas, niños y adolescentes estaban conectados de 10 a 12 horas. Eso hacía que haya 760 mil pedófilos diariamente conectados”, comentó Paola Andrade, CEO de la fundación Ecuador dice No Más.

Desde 2021 Ecuador trabaja de manera conjunta con Estados Unidos para detectar actividades inusuales en la Web. Lo hace a través del Centro Nacional para Menores Desaparecidos y Explotados (NCMEC) se obtiene información.
Por ejemplo, en 2021 la plataforma de las autoridades reportó 324 actividades inusuales. En 2022 fueron 536 y en lo que va del 2023 han sido reportadas 218.
“Nosotros realizamos patrullaje en territorio digital para poder determinar si existe algún tipo de ruta”, agregó Diego Calispa, jefe de Análisis de Información de la Dinaf.
En lo que corresponde a Ecuador, la Policía señala que la mayor incidencia de pornografía infantil se registra en ciudades como Guayaquil, Quito y Esmeraldas. Este año, las autoridades aseguran que han conseguido articularse internacionalmente y han logrado ejecutar operativos para desbaratar redes.
“De estas operaciones, 89 personas fueron detenidas y 300 mil archivos con contenido sexual explícito fueron decomisados. Finalmente, se logró la recuperación de 311 víctimas a nivel internacional”, dijo Calispa.
