  1. It's very obvious to anyone with a brain in their head. When Trump didn't release his tax returns and lied about why he can't release them because of the phony audit. It would spark the most obvious question.. …Why? What is he potentially hiding? Trump brought this on himself.

  2. Regarding speakership: if McCarthy were ABLE and WILLING to think about healing divisions, he certainly has the option to reach across the aisle. I think there is a good chance that wise democrats would be able to formulate a bargain that does a much better job of protecting democracy for all than having continually to kowtow to the 5 most extreme members of his conference.

Regarding tax returns: Trump has multiple bankruptcies. He reported giant losses on businesses with no income. How can the GOP clamor about fiscal responsibility and not want the leader of their party to be a good example. I don't think it's vindictive to want to see the President's tax returns. I think it's basic good sense, and even more so if the chief executive has the power to order an executive branch agency not to follow the law.

PS. The Constitution specifies only limited requirements to be President but I see no reason states could not enact requirements to get on the ballot: example, must release previous 5 years tax returns before the state primary or caucus. If even a few states did that, it would create an expectation of accountability.

  3. See CNN this s*** I'm talking about the Hopeless that just me and just say anything no one is not true instead of saying that's not being addictive how's that vindictive just let him say it and go on and then wonder how people's confused your job is a f**** tell the truth the news the truth

  4. Biden is the worst president in US history. He has made America less safe. While our enemies flex their military muscles and America is in crisis where is the potato?
    In St Croix vacationing.

  5. It feels vindictive, only? What about the reason it was promised but never released? What about the revelations? Aren't Democrats only doing what Trump promised as soon as the audit was over? Well, since there is no audit, isn't it time to release these documents?

  6. Kevin McCarthy and two of his California friends, a Rabbi and a Hindu Sadhu, had car trouble in the Central Valley countryside, before they asked to spend the night with a farmer. The farmer said, "There might be a problem; you see, I only have room for two to sleep, so one of you must sleep in the barn." "No problem," chimed the Rabbi, "My people wandered in the desert for forty years, I am humble enough to sleep in the barn for an evening." With that he departed to the barn and the others bedded down for the night. Moments later a knock was heard at the door; the farmer opened the door. There, from the barn, stood the Rabbi. "What's wrong?" asked the farmer. He replied, "I am grateful to you, but I can't sleep in the barn. There is a pig in the barn, and my faith believes them to be unclean animals." His Hindu friend agrees to swap places with him. But a few minutes later, the scene reoccurs, after another knock on the door. "What's wrong, now?" the farmer asks. The Hindu holy man replies, "I too am grateful for your helping us out, but there is a cow in the barn and in my country, cows are considered sacred. I can't sleep near a cow" Well, that leaves only Kevin to make the change. He grumbled and complained but went out to the barn. Moments later there was another knock on the farmer's door. Frustrated and tired, the farmer opens the door, and there stood…. the pig and the cow.

  7. CNN please replace that fool Jennings as a rep for Republican ideas. He spouts party talking points with no pushback rather than cogent, fact-based analysis. Democrats began asking for tax returns during 2016 election when Clinton released hers.

  8. What a ludicrous comment to suggest that releasing Trump's tax returns is somehow "antithetical," antithetical to what – good governance; if every preceding president has released their tax returns why should Trump be exempt and why it is vindictive? I'm reminded of the old adage 'if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear;' but Trump continuously lied that his taxes were being audited, when he knew full well they weren't. The man seems to be the only person where not abiding by the rules and the law is either justified, or somehow acceptable; Trump must NEVER be allowed near power again, he's simply unfit.👏

  9. Releasing Any politician's tax return can only benefit America as the bribery, grifting, and fraud scandal of the past will be fewer and farther from happening, to say otherwise is just being naive or spineless.

  10. "It feels to most republican's like it's vindictive" So fucking what, every other president has released their tax returns since Nixon, and if republicans find something on Democrats, good release it, we don't care, we just want fair justice for all, including the president/former president. We won't defend them to the point of storming the capitol and throwing our lives away, all for a lying POS that could care less about the people, his own people. The way republicans have defended trump and his cronies will be a shit stain on the United States for generations to come, and will go down in the history books, if the GOP doesn't try to burn them first.

  11. Mccarthy is an establishment rino who doesn't care about conservative values he goes with the Democrats behind closed doors Mccarthy is a gift to Democrats an their anti American beliefs.
