  1. In college. Late 1980's. Journalism 101 class. Trip to see a speaker on campus. Prepare a question or two in case you get to ask it. Cover event. Write a piece.

Speaker was a Jewish black man. Don't recall his name. He had written a book and was promoting it at EMU. Like a 30 or 40 minute talk with time for questions.

The basic gist if the book (as far as I can recall) was a compare contrast between the slave trade and the holocaust, with a conclusion, that it does neither blacks or jews to argue about which group got the worse deal. They should work together and stop animosity between each other. Basically said it didn't matter who got it worse.

When it was time for questions, my instructor, of Caribbean ancestry, left to her feet and screamed, something to the effect, How dare you say it doesn't matter! My people died!

Her bias completely ruled her. If she hadn't been in the middle of the audience she may have rushed the stage.

This hierarchy is wrong. But it isn't new

  2. What a sport. You get as big and as strong as you can be and then you run as fast as you can towards each other and collide. How about no more tackle football. Life will go on. Jerry Jones will just have to find a new hobby.

  3. Epic failure on not bringing up the possibility of the cardiac arrest not being being Covid and/or vaccine related. Many of us thought you were more courageous. You ultimately become complicit by not raising this as a possibility.

  4. This after such tragedy is what sports is about. Brings us together. Its the best part. I feel for every athlete this happened not that long ago to a European Soccer play. So hard for any player current or former to watch something this occur. Prayers for all involved. I have had a found admiration for the Bills since their first superbowl appearance. I only watch PSU and Eagles, but I will always root for the Bills any other time. What a difficult week Buffalo has had with this and the storm.

  5. Sporting people get dead often – look into Jockeys. I'm sick and tired of hearing of the whinging and whining of people copping a 'touch' from one of USA's totally "protected" sport. You are so soft -Try playing AFL – No Protection. USAliens are pathetic.

  6. My prayers go out to him and everyone surrounding him. At the end of the day, it's about life the humanity of us all…don't care about whatever justice or agenda people are toting in this moment

  7. How disgusting that the main thing to think about is how many games, or no more, does this team need to play to be in the super bowl. While this player lies in the hospital after having cardiac arrest, obviously from mandated poison shots. He may possibly die. 27 years old. His heart quit working. Absolutely not from playing. Where is the humanity?
