Miss USA Noelia Voigt paid tribute to American landmarks at the Miss Universe 2023 national costume competition on Thursday in El Salvador. The costume, made to represent the diversity of the United States, featured miniatures of the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the Washington Monument and the White House, as well as a replica of the Route 66 sign.

Voigt’s costume, created by Blas Simon Villalba Rivas, also featured a sparkling corset bodysuit covered in sequins and crystals. The contestant wore a matching headpiece and over-the-knee boots.

The national costume competition was hosted by the current Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel, who will end her reign on Saturday. Gabriel — who made headlines after wearing a national costume inspired by NASA and astronauts during the 71st edition of the competition — took the stage in a glittery blue dress with a side slit and a dramatic draped skirt.

On Wednesday, Voigt debuted at the Miss Universe 2023 competition wearing a red dress by Venezuelan designer Dhey Galaviz for the preliminary phase of the pageant. Voigt, who was born to an American Venezuelan couple, has worked with Galaviz before. He created the yellow gown she wore during the final Miss USA 2023 competition in September.

Besides the evening gown round, the preliminary phase also featured a swimsuit competition. Voigt wore a shiny purple one-piece swimsuit, which is part of the first collaborative merchandise line released by the Miss Universe Organization.

The 72nd annual Miss Universe competition will take place on Saturday in El Salvador and will feature a performance by John Legend. The event culminates with R’Bonney Gabriel crowning the 2023 Miss Universe. Gabriel wears the Force for Good crown, created by the Lebanese jewelry company Mouawad. The piece is encrusted with diamonds and sapphires with 993 stones.

The final round of the competition will be broadcast on Telemundo and available to stream on Roku.
