A couple of decades ago I went to a wine tasting dedicated to champagne. I rated champagnes based on flavor and nothing else. The three I liked the best were all under $20. the three I thought tasted most like I imagined kerosene would taste like all happened to be the most expensive ones at the tasting ranging from $225 to $350 a bottle. To be fair, I am not saying these are the three most expensive champagnes that exist anywhere. They just happened to be the three that were the most expensive at that particular wine tasting. I thought all three were hideous. Generally, I didn't like any of the ones that were over $50. The ones between $20 and $50 I thought were OK but not special. There were 30 total at the tasting. And I want to note that I was not aware of any of the prices until AFTER I had tasted and rated all of them. I have happily chosen inexpensive champagnes ever since.

If it's not made in Champagne France it isn't Champagne. I recently bought a 80.00 Pierre Juette and a 300.00 Cristal. It was my first time having Cristal and my first time ever feeling it's effervesence.
Although I won't buy it all the time from now on when I buy Champagne I will only buy Cristal or better✌️🇺🇲Try cheap, mid range, and expensive and they all have similar tastes but Cristals effect was best.
