Luka deserves all of the credit for what he is doing, which is the stuff of legend. But the NBA needs to cool it with statements about how there has been no 50-20-10 performance since the 1960s. Because in today's NBA, they don't call traveling and they don't allow people to play defense.
So the games of my youth, defensive battles which were won by scores of 87-83, have been replaced by games which are won 137-125. Which is okay if that's what people want to see (not for me, thanks). But you can't then wonder how people can possibly score 50 points. Elgin Baylor and Magic Johnson and Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan had to fight against an actual defense.
