I came from the era of birth parents, my mom and dad! They was farmers. Both sets of my grandparents was farmers, and those before them. All I know is people need to quit telling people what they think what we're supposed to do, say or think. Just be good people, do good, treat all how you want to be treated. That's how I was brought up and today, I have become a hermit.

I've seen numerous times when parents worked hard and built a business from nothing to lucrative, successful enterprises and their children inheriting the businesses, then running them into the ground because they didn't inherit their parents' attributes.

Why are you attacking family. I didn't want to be an engineer but that is what I grew up knowing and looking up to my father. in college i excelled in the engineering department. I look back today and I would have been a miserable Psychologist or schoolteacher. this nepotism conversation is mis-managed. thank you! brown jacket guy. my ex-neighbour FUNCTION was not to knock my door because he likes.
I get my shoes repaired by this guy who's grandfather started the store. His dad took over for his grandfather and they both trained the newest generation cobbler. He does a great job, and the fact it's a family business handed down makes me like it more.
This would only be a debate in Hollywood. Pretty obvious for everywhere else

The soviet union and ccp were built upon family dynasty's. With a total absence of "merit" based advancement in a socialist system, passing wealth and power within the family closes the door to new blood that could challenge the establishment. The problem arises from stagnation and incompetence that affects those outside of the bubble of the undeserving. California has been run between the same 5 families, that got rich at the expenses of destroying the State and the lives of the people within it.

Acting is mostly about the opportunity to gain experience. The children of celebrities are automatically given auditions that most are not thereby elbowing out lots of more talented actors.

Children following in their parents profession is common place and perfectly normal. It happens in every business no matter what it is. Children are brought up from a young age becoming familiar with the family business. It can continue for generations. This leads to children growing and sometimes becoming more successful than their parents. Starting from scratch or the benefits of nepotism is a natural part of life. And when children don't have the work ethic of their parents they simply fail and someone else is given the job. No matter what, if you want success you have to work hard at it.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with helping your children to catch a break. There is something wrong with giving your child the lead in a movie over children that our better qualified.

All 3 of my children worked for me and I needed them. One I had to terminate because he didn't work harder than my non family employees.
