Why is there dirt under the bonnet?

  • Edu hehe xd on January 30, 2022

Seeing all that dirt inside is making me worried. What would happen if it was water?

  • Gabriel Bourke on January 30, 2022

    The horn is back!

  • Lee on January 30, 2022

The Super Beam and everything below it looks like what you’d expect to see if you lifted the hood of the Star Trek Enterprise.

  • ASHiGA on January 30, 2022

the plastic industry is the same as the oil one

  • ASHiGA on January 30, 2022

no it’s the HEPA filter and the new 12v lithium battery

  • Totally Plugged In on January 30, 2022

It would make for really cool TV to see footage of Tesla engineers watching the video of you guys doing the tare down and hearing comments from them like "I wonder if they are going to notice this?"…. or "huh! we didn't even think about that!" I always think those engineers must watch these videos in fascination!

  • Christopher Loughrane on January 31, 2022

Such a teardown should be enforced by law for all cars when a manufacturer realeses a new model.

  • mikelCold on January 31, 2022

Why is it dirty underneath the frunk?

  • Mimmi Piggast on January 31, 2022

So exciting to follow your tear down even though it hurts a little 😀

  • Tygerdan on January 31, 2022

Very interested in that lithium 12V battery. Does it mean no more replacing them every 2-4 years?

  • Waka_1111 on February 1, 2022

Did you realize the weldings of the extruded structural aluminum part? they are burnt without cleaning or whatever

  • 4subvoid4 on February 1, 2022

    Sponsored by Tesla 😀

  • BackwoodsBungalow on February 1, 2022

A classic example of the epic engineering talent at Tesla:
At 11:10 We are going to look under the frunk. It should be very similar to what we saw on the Model Y.
At 13:05 OMG what is that! 😎
The rate of progress and the integration of components is astounding. The super bottle has been followed by the super cross member for the air suspension. 👍

  • Scott Cooper on February 1, 2022

Sandy !please go to the doctor and have him change your blood pressure meds . I had the same cough . Simple fix .

  • ASP on February 2, 2022

LOL at the orange harness mould that faces up instead of down yet its zip tied into place. A manufacturer error on a car of this price point

  • De-bodgery on February 2, 2022

Finally! A car tear down!!! Could not have cared less about you driving the car around!!!

  • E.J. Roy on February 4, 2022

really do not want to hurt anybody's feelings, but would like to have only sandy in the videos explain. everybody else should be behind the camera imo

  • Ben is so good on camera. He killed it during the mach-e teardown and am looking forward to the Plaid teardown now. Give that man a raise!

  • Julian Riise on February 5, 2022

Camera-guys is waaay to excited, I'm getting dissy watching this. Other than than, 10/10 as always!

  • Julian Riise on February 5, 2022

Please don't zoom in on every little detail, my eyes hurt

  • Squiddy on February 5, 2022

    I’m here for Cory

  • Jan Barcik on February 5, 2022

Sandy, what serious issues you can encouter when making high volume production with aluminium? What do you mean?

  • mark perry on February 5, 2022

Tesla has a long way to go to be called luxury.

  • kevin williams on February 6, 2022

    Waiting for the tear down👍💯

  • Ed Kaine on February 7, 2022

And also thanks to the folks who supported the project by buying a Monroe Live bumper sticker. Some were even signed by Sandy. (These bumper stickers might be sold on Lloyds of London at auction someday… but otherwise it was to support this teardown.)

  • Sounds Light on February 8, 2022

Maybe the rear seats meant for children only!?

  • Jos Kleijne on February 9, 2022

Maybe Sabic can do something useful with all the plastic Boyan Slat is collecting from the oceans…

  • Richard Savin on February 9, 2022

    I have a question.
Can you tell me how much difference there is between a Tesla Plad and a Model S Long Range beyond what us obiivous. For exampel components under the hood? Suspention, Cooling etc. You talk about how good the Plad is but what I want to know is how close is a S long range to the Plad? Thanks!

  • Ray Zong on February 13, 2022

How much would it hurt Tesla margin if they were to improve the build quality to Mercedes level ? Or even just to Toyota level?

  • PicoNano on February 14, 2022

It's a car for rich people. This will not make a dent in the environment. We need millions of EVs.
Not gonna happen with cars selling for $40k and up.

  • hillboy2001 on February 18, 2022

go straight to 2nd half of the video

  • Jim Jardine on February 21, 2022

  • Larry Butler on February 23, 2022

Why is the mud coming up to fill the compartment above? Shouldn't the holes in the cheap plastic seal?

  • noneroy on March 1, 2022

I'm sort of disappointed. The frunk in my Plaid is a whole lot smaller than this and its a 2021….

  • billdale1 on March 2, 2022

"You can't have your cake and eat it, too"— I look forward to seeing the guts of this of this beast, but I am conflicted in that I know that this car will never be reassembled, and never be driven again— such a waste in that respect.

  • myke venable on April 7, 2022

What happens to the car, or parts, once it’s been dissected and scrutinized over ?
