Its too bad. The smartphone market is just begging to be disrupted. If done well – and I believe Tesla is a company that could do it well – it would be a massive revenue source for Tesla. But I agree, it is likely a myth.

The competition, is even trying to get aproval of their own satalites.

Show me a phone with a radio capable of reaching a satellite in low orbit and I’ll show you a phone that will never exist because the power required would require a battery 10x as big as any phone battery today.
Why develop a $25k car that fits the budget of most of the world(there are NO prototypes) instead play with a cellphone.. doubtless with it's own is not compatible with Android or iOS brilliant!

The margins on smartphones are small potatoes compared to their cars. Not to mention the addressable market.
I hold no special revealments on the Pi Phone but I think with StarLink this would be a good fit as most humans probably use their cell phone in place of their home computer for viewing content, at least that's my hunch!
Do humans in a Tesla use their cell phone to make a call or can the car if it is connected (FSD) to the internet which it must be because it takes Software Updates – can the car then make Phone calls?
I think that the current vendors of Operating Systems have not done a great job in keeping the Operating Systems from being compromised, so deep down I think the Pi Phone would allow humanity another 'kick at the cat' in bringing back some level of confidentiality and thus security back into their computers.
If I get Neuralink added to my brain, will I be able to make a call through my Tesla Bot?
The only way I see them doing a phone is on a bet with apple. Have apple come out with a car and he comes out with a phone and see who buys more. Who does it better

After the V11 UI update I have my doubts in the UI for a tesla phone but I hope to be proven wrong.
All people relly care about is if the camera is going to be as good as the iPhone camera, when it comes to social media photos or videos
Starlink would make one believe that Tesla is getting into phones, but it's highly doubtful in the next 5 to 10 years. Starlink and 5G/6G is for FSD and car interconnectivity.
Well if Tesla makes a more durable phone with less programmed obsolescence it would be great for a world more sustainable.

I’m not a fan of new phones I had mine for over 3 years, however I would definitely buy a new Pi phone if Elon made one. I would be first in line and be willing to pay the high price for it!!! I love ❤️ Elon and everything he makes.😁
All I want to see from starlink is a nomad access point to use on the go with my computer. So lightweight, usb-c powered (10-15W or so) and small enought to go in a laptop bag. I just wait for this to live my perfect hobo life (plan for a round the world trip on a motorcycle)

Musk's comment about smartphones not being the future hinges on neurallink replacing the interface. So smartphones would still be necessary just wouldn't need a screen.. just a phone your neurallink would wirelessly connect to in your pocket. Either glasses, contacts or direct neural manipulation would provide the display.

I have been an Apple only user for over a decade now.. This has been because of there commitment to quality and building a lasting product for its users. However, it seems they are on a struggle bus with their software updates as of late. Frankly, many users are getting sick of spending this kind of money on their products only to have nothing but problems. Maybe Elon will be our answer. Focusing on quality and longevity seems Apple has lost sight of this. I mean why would we upgrade to a new Apple product with major usage issues !
