Looking to add age verification on your WordPress site? Some website owners may want to ask their visitors for age verification to view the content of their site due to the content’s nature and any legal requirements. In this video, we will guide you on how to add age verification to your WordPress site easily.
For this tutorial, we will be using the plugin “Age Gate” found here:
With the plugin installed and activated you should see the Age Gate item in your admin menu. In that area, you will find the plugin’s settings area where you can configure how you want it to work.
Start by deciding the minimum age and how you would like the users to confirm the age limit. The plugin by default would offer Yes/No buttons, a dropdown box or a form. Save the changes to ensure your preferred settings stay set.
Under the Messaging tab in the plugin, you can decide the headline and sub headline for your message. The Appearance tab also allows you to decide the design of the page to be a simple or as complex as you want it to be.
With that set, you should now see the age verification message when visiting your site.
