WEBFI-WordPress-How To Allow Authors To Revise Published Posts in WordPress

We’ve had users with authors on their site asking if they can allow the authors to edit published posts on their WordPress site. These revisions can help improve the content of the article as well as give authors more control over what they publish on your site. In this video, we will guide you on how to allow authors to revise published posts in WordPress.

For this tutorial we will be using the ‘Revision Manager TMC’ plugin found here:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/revision-manager-tmc/

With the plugin activated, the settings for the plugin can be found under Settings, Revision Manager TMC. In the general settings, you want to select edit_posts under ‘Copy creation capability’ and published_posts in ‘Acceptation capability’. This allows users to create a duplicate of a published post for them to edit and the role you set under ‘Role for notification’ will be notified when the changes are submitted.

Your authors will see the option to create a revision draft. This draft works the same as if the author was editing the post but instead of allowing them to post the changes they make directly the publish button will be a ‘Submit for review’ button. Depending on how you have the plugin set up will determine if an admin or an editor is notified of the draft.

The plugin will send an email to who it was set for with a link to publish the edits by overwriting the original. Once you do the changes will be added and the duplicate post will be removed from your posts area.

Love your content, very easy to understand.
Do you have a tutorial on how to create a page where the user can send me a private request and receive my response on that same page?

    Thanks, Christina,

Have an affiliate site with 1000+ posts

I would like to be able to allow the merchant to log in and modify their post as you have shown.

However, with regard to security, how to only let them see their post and nothing else, including seeing the toolbar on the left?

When done and the revision submitted, will the merchant get an email telling them that their post has been reviewed/approved?

Lastly, is there a way that an account can be set up via a form where the merchant or admin can create their account and associate the merchant's posts to their account?

    Many Thanks
