Summary of this Tutorial:

Visit the google tag manager and sign up with the same email that you have the Google Analytics with.

We’ll setup a web container for our website and pick web.

If you’re creating this for an app you can choose one of the others.

Now we’ll see a dashboard for our container and we can create our first tag.

You have several products to choose from and for this video we’ll pick Google Analytics.

Choose the universal analytics and it will want you to add your site’s tracking id.

We’ll pick all pages as when to fire the tag.

Now we’ll get this bit of code that we need to copy and paste on our site so I’ll copy it here.

The easiest way to add code is to first install and activate the insert headers and footers plugin then add the code to the header section and save settings.

Now that we’ve added it we have to go back to the tag manager and publish the container.

It was very good information but you go too fast. I had to stop the video several times and replay it to actually follow your instructions. Thanks

gtm wants the container after the opening body tag – not in the header. this still works?

I noticed that you placed the code in the header, but the window from which the code was copied specified putting it in the <body>. Is the header in the <body>?

You should have shown exactly where in header we have to paste the tag manager code.

Great video, would be good to see the results of what you just did. Otherwise great.

I can't seem to get the bidding code. I have followed all the steps and it won't give it to me. Has it changed?

The tag manger wants to place a script in the body..you did not explain this.

Far too quick. And needs to be updated for updates in GTM. Also, explain any variations from Google-recommended practices. Google >> WPBeginner. Every. Time.

Are the tags loaded once? Or each tag is loads once through the GTM script.

For example, i'm using FB / Bing / Adwords and through GTM they all load their own JS file once + GTM tag I guess there is something wrong right? Thanks for your help.
