Summary of this Tutorial:

Markdown is a language that converts plain text into html code.

This is great if you use a text editor to write your posts for WordPress.

This way you can add your formatting while writing and when you add it to your WordPress post the formatting is already there.

In order for the markdown to work on the WordPress site, install and activate the wp-markdown plugin.

Then go to Settings, Writing and scroll down to the markdown section.

If you have Jetpack installed (a common and versatile plugin), you can activate Markdown in it, and avoid the bloat of an extra plugin.

Can someone please tell me why WordPress have rearranged their settings so stupidly that it took me five minutes just to find what plugins I had installed? And why isn't Markdown working for my site? Why? Why does this need to be so complicated? It should be as easy as using it straight out of the box. Why do I have to sift through hours of out of date video tutorials to use a website that should be EASY TO USE for beginners? Ridiculous.

One thing that drives me nuts about WP is having to find the right editor to use. I look forward to the day they have 1 editor,1 editor only, not two types of editors…

no matter if you're coming from your admin or wordpress. It's really annoying, or maybe I just can't get used to it. I still haven't figured out which one is better to use. Maybe you can explain it to me. Appreciate it
