It may have been one day late, but the city of Corona and the Cinco de Mayo Committee hosted their 49th annual celebration Saturday, May 6, at City Park.
The event, which also included lowriders, local dancers and singers, raised money for scholarships the committee awards to Latino high school seniors heading to college.
“We’re celebrating Cinco de Mayo on Saturday so more can come together and enjoy, but we also use it to raise money for scholarships as a nonprofit organization,” event organizer Armando Salazar Jr. said before the event. “We want to be able to give to those heading to college funding that otherwise is hard to get.”
