Summary of this Tutorial:
Start by installing and activating the Twitch Status plugin.
Go to Settings, Twitch Status to configure the plugin.
You will need to add your Twitch channel name and the jquery selector.
We just enter .twitch for now and save changes.
Now you can add a Twitch widget to your sidebar.
To get it in your menu just go to Appearance, Menus and add a custom link with the Twitch stream url.
Go to screen options and check css class and under the css class add twitch there and it will show if you are live or not from your menu.
To embed your twitch stream in WordPress you’ll have to paste the embed code from twitch and add that to your post or page.

Please make a video like this for YouTube Gaming streams. I left Twitch to stream on YouTube and would like to use this.
would of been handy if you slow down the pace of the video so people can keep up instead of having to view it a few times
I had to enter \.twitch in the setup instead of just .twitch as shown in this video in order to get it to work with the most current version of WordPress. I got an error without it.
thank you for this video!

Thanks helped me a bunch 🙂
The plugin hasn't been updated and with Twitch's API change this widget no longer works.
